Guten tag! If you like to keep up with our travels via the blog, I bet you are wondering where in the world have they been? It’s been quiet – which is not like Brittany. And you’d be right! This past April was very quiet as Bryan was away for work and I was settling in and trying to figure things out. April was a difficult month due to the many adjustments and horribly unexpected loss of our sweet dog, so I am so relieved to have Bryan back so we can go explore together like we were hoping to while in this beautiful culturally rich part of the world. This past weekend we visited Pilsen, Czech Republic to stroll the town during the Annual Pilsen Liberation Festival. This particular event celebrates the American and Belgian veterans and honors the events leading to the end of the Second World War. Since our town was cloudy and rainy, this was a perfect escape to a sunny beautiful spring celebration festival. Sunshine and flowers just warm the soul – ya know?
This was our first festival, and the booths and fest foods all looked unique and amazing!
We kept thinking this was the most numerous collection of still running
historical military vehicles we’d ever seen on display.
It was really neat seeing them and the individuals adorned in the uniforms from the War time.
They hosted a parade which was just cool to watch so many of the vehicles roll by.
I never would have guessed we’d be attending a patriotic celebration so far away from home, but it was really neat and made for a beautiful, fun and relaxing day. Who knows what we’ll see next? 😉
