First I should apologize for any and all terrible grammar or typos these travel posts may have. I may or may not be typing these when I should be sleeping! But thank you so much for hanging in there with me. Camping, especially dry camping occasionally (where you camp somewhere randomly without hooking up to power, water and sewer), has been an adjustment for
us me…and combined with the little sleep, I may have shamefully had a diva moment or two. Moments such as trying to put things into cabinets, turning to help Bryan, and turning right back into the cabinet door corner… or hopelessly trying to find things, such as a whole loaf of bread I KNOW I have, in a full, over-packed small camper…all with dirty hair. I would like to tell you I can rough it and camp with the best of them…but going without a shower is hard for me. Fortunately I am beyond blessed to have Bryan’s contagious positivity, and when I saw him begin to get irritated with something I reminded him I need him to be positive so I could feed off of his positivity like a leech. 😉 We’ve only had the one dry camping rough day so far, and I am enjoying things now that we have clean hair and a slight routine – if you would call it that. Hey, I will tell on myself – just keeping it real here! 🙂
Our last night in BC, we stayed at Canyon Creek RV (photos of campground here). It was fun to wake up to the chirping of birds and the cutest little red squirrels.
We were so excited to arrive in Washington and love the hometown feel it had!
We headed towards Bothell, a more suburban town near Seattle, and camped at Lake Pleasant RV. Lake Pleasant RV is nothing more than a set back campground surrounding a glorified retention pond, but it is beautiful and peaceful…and if you’ve figured out I love animals – you know I loved the ducks in the pond!
After a good nights rest, we took it easy the next morning and headed into town for fun and sightseeing at Olympic Sculpture Park. I have to tell you we were totally expecting rain, but it was 77 and totally sunny all 3 days we were in Seattle! The beautiful weather was definitely a blessing for a short sightseeing trip.
And don’t mind the peeing boy in our photo – we thought he would give you for a good laugh! 😉
That evening we got to re-visit a former Bride’s best friend, whom I adore, and her new fiancé Elliott. Our night was awesome and I was so pumped to have a friend to visit and laugh with! They are honestly as crazy, adventurous and fun-loving as you can get…and I LOVE it!
Our last morning in Washington, we visited Pike’s Place Market which was definitely iconic to Seattle. We got to see the Pike’s Place Fish Co. boys throw fish, see and smell all kinds of goodies, and admire the most beautiful (and affordable!!!) fresh bouquets of flowers.
Let’s just say if we lived there – Valentines Day would never be the same. 😉 Visiting Seattle in June was such a treat for us and we are so thankful we got to relax and see places we have heard about for years. After exploring the market we headed back to our camper to load up and head for Oregon…which is a story to be continued… 🙂
