I just smile when looking at this session of Anchorage Engagement Photos! Meet Kasey and Michael. Both working in the same building during college, Kasey and Michael hit it off (if you ask Michael, Kasey was smitten over him :)). After school Kasey followed her heart and Michael all the way up to Anchorage from their home in Texas and have been planning their Texas wedding long distance. Since Alaska is a part of their love story, they decided to have their Engagement Photos taken up here and chose a favorite spot of mine – Beluga Point. Though it was quite windy that day and a bit chilly, Kasey and Michael looked fabulous and snuggled extra close which only made their smiles brighter! These two were so easy to photograph and were completely comfortable playing and laughing together without a single cue from us of what to do!
As I said I love, love, love Beluga Point as it captures the essence of Alaska with the mountains surrounding the Inlet. However, I love the challenge of photographing the same location and still finding a new way to make each session unique, and this required a little bit of Mountain Goat skills on my part. 🙂
We had to do a double ring shot here, because in addition to Kasey’s GORGEOUS ring, Michael’s College ring is also AWESOME and a special memento of where these two would cross paths and change each other’s lives forever!
After a while we added a little off camera lighting, which helped capture the awesome sun and clouds for a unique look.
We are falling in love with off camera light to capture the natural color and mood of the surroundings with zero Photoshop!
We had such a wonderful time playing on the rocks with you guys Kasey and Michael and wish you all the best as you plan your wedding and begin your lives together as husband and wife!
