Especially in Alaska, you never can rely on the weather reports and forecasts. Alice and Frank are living proof of that! Last year, I had the pleasure of photographing both Alice and Frank’s fun engagement session and gorgeous wedding in Anchorage. Despite the rainy forecast, their September wedding in Downtown Anchorage was filled of blue skies and almost air conditioning breezes in the sunshine.
This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing the two of them again right in time for their First Wedding Anniversary the following day! Again the forecast looked grim…but as we headed to Margaret Eagan Sullivan Park by Westchester Lagoon, the rain let up completely and the golden end-of-the-day-sun peeked out for just long enough.
It was so great to see how well they were both doing, and to hear about the fun adventures they shared in their first year. There is no doubt the First year of marriage is one of the most challenging, but as I photographed Frank and Alice I smiled behind my camera as I noticed the same gentleness and affection in Frank’s eyes toward Alice matched by her endearment and passion in every affectionate gesture toward him. I always adore Alice who is never afraid to sport her stilettos and bebe Wedge heels on and off the sidewalk! We had a wonderful evening chatting and walking around at the park as the clouds rolled and revealed the gorgeous Chugach Mountains towards the end of the evening. And just like that, as we finished up our last couple of shots, the rain gently moved back in and rippled in the water. I couldn’t help but thank God for His perfect timing with the weather for a great evening!
Congratulations once again Alice and Frank! We loved having another evening to spend with you both and wish you many, many more beautiful memories in the years to come!
