Last weekend, a team of local vendors came together to create a Winter Styled Wedding Shoot to inspire brides planning their own Winter Wedding. Beth and Tara with Bateau Bridal Boutique, Meredith and Sasha from Oopsie Daisy Florals, Amanda with Alaskan Elegance, Andrew’s team at Special Events Alaska, Anita with Midnight Sun Cakery, Kathryn with The Chocolate Lily Wedding Papered Goods, Jenny – a hair artist at Regis Hair Salon on Dimond, and the fabulous makeup artist Elena Barbee – (find her at Nordstrom’s Mac Makeup area to book her to come glam up your event!) all came together to give inspiration featuring the breath-taking and beautiful season of Winter here in Alaska.
While I am truly grateful beyond words for these wedding industry professionals, today I want to highlight two additionally vital people I feel incredibly blessed to have found. Bonnie and Shane are a married couple that volunteered their time to model as the Bride and Groom. Bonnie and Shane have been married for a few years, and I was blown away at their affection for each other, joyful spirits and total commitment to their part in our Styled Shoot. I am not even kidding, by the time we were ready to photograph Bonnie and Shane outdoors, it was 5-12 degrees. Totally prepared, Bonnie and Shane brought everything from discrete long johns and winter boots to ice cleats. And while I am pretty sure she couldn’t feel her fingers, Bonnie was still smiling as she huddled over our heater for a thaw-out break. And this is when I realized how much these two brought to the table for this project. The love, laughter and comfort with each other that Bonnie and Shane shared despite the fact that it was freezing was the most essential ingredient making the outdoor portion of our shoot successful.
Bonnie and Shane were simply delightful for our first Winter Styled Shoot in Alaska and I could not have been more blessed to have found a more positive and willing duo to work with! I don’t want to give away the beautiful elements from this shoot just yet – so just a close up sneak peek for now…but gosh these two are just precious. 😉
I can’t wait to photograph them again this weekend during our mini sessions … still in the cold but more in their own element! 😀
