I am so excited to post this Alyeska wedding of a couple that have become quite special to Bryan and myself! As family flew into town from the Chicago area despite the delays, Molly and Greg were ready for a fabulous Wedding Day celebration with family and friends from near and far. You may remember Molly and Greg from their recent Engagement Session on Skyline Drive, but you haven’t seen anything until you get a look at Molly all dressed in white and Greg looking amazing proudly wearing his Army dress blues for their Wedding Day. Bryan and I have become great friends with Molly and Greg, so it was extra special being able to photograph a couple we have gotten to know so well. Molly and Greg have been waiting to have their big wedding day this summer, and the waiting paid off as it was a beautiful Alaskan summer day with just enough moments of sun and cloud coverage.
Molly and Greg made sure to wait to see each other until after the ceremony, and when I first saw Molly that afternoon, I knew Greg was going to have a major lump in his throat seeing her! Molly and her Bridesmaids Becky, Cara and Shelby relaxed and finished getting ready in their room with Molly’s Mom, niece and nephews, while Greg and his Groomsmen Dan, Cody and Ryan began walking around for photographs. I felt like Bryan and I were secret service agents making sure that Molly and Greg would not bump into one another. I kind of liked it 😉
Alyeska has this amazing gravel aisle for the outdoor ceremonies, and the girls and Molly effortlessly walked down the aisle looking so excited. The ring bearers on the other hand were quite comical. About half way into their walk, little Andy decided to retreat back to Mom. While big brother Ethan tried to bring him back around, little Andy decided the only person he was braving the aisle with would be his Mom Becky, Molly’s sweet sister. Just as he knew he would – Greg was totally taken at his first moment seeing his beautiful bride. After their beautiful Ceremony, Molly and Greg didn’t miss a beat and walked all the way back to the Tram entrance where they held each other, kissed and relish the moment together before family, friends and photographers caught up to them. It was one of the most precious things I have ever seen and those photos are two of my very favorites from Molly and Greg’s Wedding Day because of the candid beauty of that moment between bride and groom. After hugs and congratulations from wedding guests, the happy couple made a split decision to bring the entire family and wedding party up on the Tram to the top of the mountain for formal pictures. Following our fun adventure to the top and back down, we had a few moments to photograph Molly and Greg down by the pond and they were just radiant together!
After dinner, Molly and Greg shared their first dance to “A Woman Like You” by Lee Bryce which just hit me right in the heart being a huge country music girl myself. Molly and Greg enjoyed catching up with friends they’ve made here in Alaska as well as everyone from back home. One moment that was so special was after toasts had been made, Molly stood up and toasted to Greg, which I just thought was so sweet and classy. Since she had a chance to thank everyone in her toast the night before at their rehearsal dinner, she wanted to take a moment to thank Greg for who he was to her, which was absolutely the sweetest! Molly’s nephew Ethan really stole the dance floor show for a couple moments with his ridiculously good dance moves, and Molly and her Bridesmaids and friends from home laughed, sang and danced enjoying each precious moment together again. It was a truly fabulous celebration of two outstanding people, and we were blessed to photograph such a wonderful wedding day. Congratulations once again Molly and Greg! We know you are having a BLAST in Hawaii on your HONEYMOON!! 🙂
