Day 10 on this cruise. Phew. Can you believe it? We are almost to some of my very favorite adventures! And in no way was Corfu, Greece a disappointment either. Corfu’s peacefully calm water and blue skies greeted us that morning as we disembarked to run around for the day. We rented a car and elected my Dad to help us head to the West side of the island to start the day.
Getting an early head start to the opposite side of the island first, we were fortunate to enjoy a very quiet and uncrowded morning exploring and making our way to the many beautiful overlooks on the west coast.
(Of course I found a sweet kitty to accompany us for a bit!)
We headed on towards the beautiful Paleokastritsa Beach where my mom and I braved the frigid waters. ( I am not even kidding it was like below 70 degrees that day!) We also retreated and went to get our shoes when even our tough little feet couldn’t handle the rocks and shells. But the water was UNBELIEVABLE! So – you know – you just have to do what you gotta do and get in! 🙂
After some fun in the gorgeous water, we headed to the monastery there which was up on a hill with breathtaking views both inside and on the grounds.
After the monastery, we headed back over to Dacia beach on the East side – which was much more populated – but definitely worth seeing. We grabbed a delicious bite of greek pizza for lunch before heading back to the Norwegian Jade.
There was just something special and fun to me about seeing grapes hanging right on the water! 🙂
The day was crazy and fun for us and a great start to our family’s Greek Isle adventures! The next day we would be arriving to the one and only Santorini…which was definitely a day to remember! Stay tuned to see highlights of our day in Santorini here on the blog next!
